The PaintShopPro window is referred to as the WORKSPACE. The program window title bar lists the name of the current image file unless you have the image view maximized in which case it also list the ZOOM factor and the current layer name. If the image is not maximized to full window view, the layer name and zoom factor are on the image title bar.

Full Screen View IconLocated on the Standard Toolbar is the Full Screen View Icon shown to the left. Clicking this icon place your image centered on a black background on your monitor. To return to your workspace, just click anywhere on the screen with your mouse or tap the spacebar.

Normal View IconI'm not sure what this Icon does... logically it would return you from the full screen view but since it vanishes when in full screen view, I can't seem to make it work! I'd love to hear from someone with the function or usability of this icon.

A very useful feature of PaintShopPro is the ability to save a workspace. When you are working on an ongoing project but other projects are cropping up in between, it can be most annoying and timne consuming to recreate your workspace with teh images, tools, et cetera, that you were using.

Workspace Sub MenuIf you go to File... Workspace... you get the sub menu to the right. When you choose SAVE, you can choose a directory and are prompted for a name for the workspace. Next time you want to work on that particular project, you simply choose LOAD and the filename you gave it and *POOF* you're back in the workspace you were using, including the open images, screen locations, zoom levels, scrollbars, rulers, grids, toolbar display settinsg and locations and palette displays and settings.

Your most recent workspace choices are shown on the Sub Menu as well -- note the test.wps on the image here. When you are done with a project, simply choose DELETE on the Sub Menu. Logically, if you move or delete any of the images in the workspace, they will be missing when you reload the workspace.

Always save an original file as a PSP file for a master image with all layers intact and unmerged. For more on saving and compressing files see check out: http://members.aol.com/pnjnca/a27.html
