CUTOUT TEXT
Technique #1

  1. Create a new image
    200x200
    White Background
Filling the new image with a texture creates a better cutout effect

  2. Choose the Text Tool - I used the following:
    Bodoni Black
    96
    Antialis Selection

  3. Create a new (Raster) Layer

  1. Images... Effects... Cutout

Set as shown at left although some variation in the settings can enhance the effect depending on the exact texture, font style and result desired

  2. Create a new (Raster) Layer

Note: This effect can be created without using layers but you lose the final tweaking ability in Step 7

  1. Images... Effects... Drop Shadow

The settings at the left are a good starting point although some adjustment may be needed especially in the vertical and horizontal offsets depending on the chosen font

  2. Adjust the opacity of the layers.
Use the settings below as a starting point for tweaking to the effect you desire.

  1. Save and you're done!!
